“When the fall is all there is”
Lara Dolphin
this is what you shall do:
Tinker, dabble, fail and offer no explanation. Avoid authority. Make the common laborer your muse and life’s wretched spectacles your masterpiece. Pay attention to lonely, defeated mothers and ghetto dwellers. Dance out of doors but work the barre. Write for the culture or for customers but always with the courage of your soul. Paint fields of sunflowers that reach for the impossible sky with no attention to lofty perfectibility. Perform black comedy. Embrace the macabre. Feed your thrill to the shock of church elders. Go singing into that dateless night knowing that when the fall is all there is, Fortune says art matters.
